Glossary of Key Terms

position
The driver’s final ranking in the championship standings, ordered by total points earned over the season.
driver_name
The full name of the Formula 1 driver.
team
The constructor or racing team the driver represents (e.g., Red Bull Racing, Ferrari).
nationality
The driver’s nationality shown as a three-letter country code (e.g., NED for Netherlands, GBR for Great Britain).
total_points
The cumulative number of championship points the driver earned across all races in the season.
wins
The number of races the driver won during the season (finishing first).
podiums
The number of times the driver finished in the top three positions (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) during the season.
pole_positions
The count of times the driver qualified fastest and started a race from first position on the grid.
fastest_laps
The number of races in which the driver recorded the single fastest lap time during the race.
dnfs
“Did Not Finish” — the number of races where the driver failed to finish due to mechanical failure, collision, or other race incidents.
races_completed
The total number of races in which the driver took part (or completed) during the season.
points_per_race
The average number of points the driver scored per race, calculated as total_points ÷ races_completed. This metric indicates consistency across the season.
